STEM Undergraduate Network

The STEM Undergraduate Network (SUN) is a grass-roots initiative at UNM linking faculty and staff who serve STEM undergraduate students. Our goals are to improve collaboration between programs, identify new opportunities for STEM programming, and maximize student participation of existing programs. SUN meets monthly and does maintain a form membership. Faculty and staff may attend any SUN meeting at any time.

Monthly meetings utilize the following set agenda:

•  Introductions
•  STEM Program Showcase (a different STEM program will present each month)
•  Open Discussion: Opportunities for collaboration between STEM programs
•  Updates: Each attendee provides updates for upcoming STEM events or opportunities If you would like to
   receive updates on upcoming SUN meeting, please email stem@unm.edu to be included on the SUN distribution list.

•  October 20, 2016, 11 am in the STCC – Office for Pre-Health Professions Student Development, with Jim McKinnell
•  November 17, 2016, 11 am in the STCC – Center for Water and the Environment, with Vanessa Valentin
•  February 16, 2017, 11 am in the STCC - ASUNM & STEM Student Organizations, with Cameron Goble (and students)
•  March 16, 2017, 11 am in the STCC - School of Architecture, Healthy Cities project, with Michael Pride
•  April 20, 2017, 11 am in the STCC - School of Architecture, ecoMod Project, with John Quale
•  May 18, 2017, 11 am in the STCC - Communicating Science for the Public, with Bill Shuttleworth
